Air stones

Thirteen stones and diffusers, from 0.6-inch cylinders a 2 W pump can drive to a 6-inch bread stone that needs more than 20 W.
Shape sets the job. Cylinders stand upright in a small tank, balls and discs lie on the floor, and the Air Stone Bar Bubbler draws a line of bubbles along the back glass in lengths from 4 to 16 in. With its 3 suction cups, the Air Stone Disc grips the glass in sizes from 2 to 8 in, while the Bread Air Stone simply sits flat, 30 oz heavy in its 6-inch size.
Bubble size is the other choice. Most of these stones give medium bubbles, and the Nano Bubble Disc and the Hemispherical Disc send up a stream of tiny ones. For a bit of color at night, the LED Air Stone Disc cycles 6 colors on a 12 V supply. Owners of a biOrb tank need the HS-55 replacements, 1.4 in long with a 1/4 in inlet.
The 13 air stones and diffusers on this shelf belong to Pawfly aquarium supplies.
Also by need: nano tanks, 1 to 5 gallons, pond aeration and big stones.
Each stone has a recommended pump power. The Mini Air Stones and the 1.5-inch disc run on 2 to 4 W, the bar bubbler on more than 2.5 W, the 2-inch balls and the 4-inch disc with suction cups on more than 4 W, the large and long cylinders on more than 7 W, and the 6-inch bread stone on more than 20 W.
The Nano Bubble Air Stone Disc and the Hemispherical Air Stone Disc. Both put out a cascade of tiny bubbles in place of the medium ones from our cylinders and balls, and the Nano Bubble disc runs on a 2 W pump at 2 L a minute. If only a few bubbles come out at first, switch the pump off for 5 seconds and back on.
Brush it gently under water, then let it dry in a cool, airy place. Most stones clog after weeks or months, and the Nano Bubble disc is due a clean once a month. The rubber Long Air Stone Cylinder is the exception: wipe it, do not brush it. Replace the tiny biOrb stones instead of cleaning them.
