- Lay it across a hydroponic reservoir or pond floor with a pump above 7 W.
Rubber, rather than sintered stone, lets this cylinder release an even line of dense bubbles along its whole length. The 8 inch tube measures 2 by 8 inches, weighs 0.75 pound and passes 24 L/min, about 380 GPH, on a pump above 7 W. A stainless steel inlet takes standard 3/16-inch tubing, and two square holders at the ends keep it from rolling.
Lengths are 8, 12 and 16 inches, single or in 2 packs, with 12 inches sold only as a pair. Small fish tanks are too short for it, so think ponds, gardens, hydroponic reservoirs and large aquariums. Soak it for more than three hours first, and clean it by wiping the surface rather than brushing, since the face is rubber.
