- Drop one into a small tank, a DWC cup or a small pond fed by a 2 to 4 W pump.
Small discs make sense where a ball would sit too tall or roll on the glass. Each one is 1.5 inches across and 0.7 inch thick, weighs 1 ounce and passes 2 L/min, about 32 GPH, on a 2 to 4 W pump with standard 3/16-inch tubing. Sintered mineral gives medium bubbles, and the flat face rests on gravel or bare glass alike.
Packs of 4 or 8 let you put one in each tank and keep spares in a drawer for the day a stone clogs. Soak a fresh disc for an hour before you connect it. At 1.5 inches the bubble stream stays narrow, so in a long tank two discs on a tee cover more floor than one.
