Each pump gets its quiet from a different part. The 1.3 W Nano set drives its air with a thin piezoelectric ceramic plate, rated at 30 dB. On the Dual-Outlet 70 GPH, four shockproof rubber feet bring it to the same 30 dB, and the Adjustable 80 GPH rests on a double-layer anti-vibration pad at under 35 dB. A soft silicone bracket base holds the Mini Air Pump at 35 dB against the tank wall.
Away from the aquarium, the quiet list goes on. The 120 GPH Pond Aeration Kit runs under 35 dB in a twin-wall ABS shell, which counts when it sits in a garage or shed by the house. Three battery aerators stay quiet on a night bank too: the Portable Live Bait Pump and the Rechargeable Live Bait Aerator at under 35 dB, and the Minnow Bucket Aerator at under 30.
All 8 picks for quiet air pumps come from the Pawfly range.
Look for 30 dB. The 1.3 W Nano Air Pump Set reaches it with a piezoelectric plate, for tanks up to 15 gallons, and the Dual-Outlet 70 GPH reaches it on rubber feet, for 10 gallons and up. Both sit below the 35 dB of most of our other quiet pumps.
It is rated under 35 dB, the same as our quiet aquarium pumps, with a twin-wall ABS shell and four low rubber feet. We advise running it indoors, in a cabinet or under a cover, and leading the 13 ft of tubing out to the pond.
Three of them. The Minnow Bucket Aerator is the quietest, at under 30 dB, and carries a 2200 or 4400 mAh battery. Both the Portable Live Bait Pump with 2000 mAh and the Rechargeable Live Bait Aerator with 2200 mAh run under 35 dB and charge over USB.
