Fine granules slip straight through the holes of an ordinary media bag. The holes in this one are 0.15 mm, or 150 micron, so peat granules, fine resin and fine activated carbon stay inside along with bio balls and ceramic rings. Its white nylon mesh does not bleed color into the water, and a drawstring closes the top.
Sizes are 8 by 3 inches for a narrow basket and 12 by 8 inches for a sump or pond box, each in packs of 4 or 8. Pull the drawstring tight and tuck the knot down so the bag lies flat. Give the bag room in the chamber, because water has to find its way around and through a mesh this fine.
