Eight layers sit in one 0.8 inch sheet: two honeycomb meshes, 3D fiber layers, activated carbon, a nano bio sponge and a fiber bio sponge. The fiber and mesh layers catch waste and food scraps, and the two sponge layers give bacteria a place to settle. Standard sheets measure 16 by 12 inches and cut to fit anything from a hang-on filter to a canister.
Order the 16 by 12 inch sheet singly or as a pair, or the long 47 by 12 inch pad for a sump or a pond box. When the flow slows, rinse it in tank water and put it back. The carbon layer comes bound into the sheet, so it cannot be swapped on its own.
