Flakes spread across the surface and end up in the filter intake. A Pawfly feeding ring keeps floating food inside one frame, held to the glass by a suction cup on a connecting rod that lets it rise and fall with the water. The round ring measures 2.25 inches inside and 2.95 outside, and the square ring is 3.8 by 3.8 inches.
Buy the round ring, the square ring, both together, or a square feeding cup. Two rings give you two feeding spots in one tank. Sinking pellets and wafers drop straight through, so it works with floating food only. Leftovers stay inside the frame, where a net lifts them out.
